Bruce in a tea chest down the docks. Little did he know
that the boxes of fine Indian tea he'd bought actually
contained the greatest fortune teller ever to have

This hilarious walkabout sees Bruce trailing his tea chests
behind him. He's a cockney, a jack-the-lad,
geezer, who takes pride in his great find 'The Fabulous
Fortune Teller - Madame Kakapo'. She definitely isn’t his
mother and while their plans to con the public always go
astray, this dastardly duo are really endearing and full of
charm and craic.
Mdme Kakapo & Son is the perfect street entertainment for all ages, leaving everyone they meet with something to
remember & a lot of laughs. The big reveal of what’s inside Bruce’s boxes always generates the ‘wow’ factor and is a great spectacle. This performance is fully self-
contained and doesn’t require any technical assistance.
Mdme Kakapo & Son is focused on the characters & the
playful connection with our audience as well as the potential for physical comedy. This truly is a bonkers little walkabout that has went down a storm since it was created.
Amadan Ensemble got awarded the Four Nations Bursary in 2024 and through this created MDME Kakapo & Son. Last year they performed to over thousands of people at festivals such as Spraoi, Surge, Greenman and BD Festival. And they are looking forward to taking the performance out again in 2025.
